·To sponsor and promote self esteem, compassion and positive life choices through art and entertainment to teens at risk everywhere, and to all of us who need an uplifting, inspiring, and transformational experience.
·To produce Broadway-quality theatrical productions, which celebrate and uplift the human spirit.
·To provide a nurturing, safe and thrilling environment, where teens at risk and others are moved to open up, express their deepest feelings and begin their journey towards consciousness and self acceptance.
·To present benefits and special events/concerts, which restore hope and healing.
·To increase awareness, compassion, and galvanize the community to promote outreach programs that benefit teens at risk.
·To hire a full time youth coordinator that will implement the goals of the Here's To Life Foundation working with public and private agencies, schools and institutions, such as the Department of Social Services, Mayor's offices and other juvenile facilities. This person will stimulate community cooperation to constructively deal with youth violence and its social effects.
·To galvanize other cities, using our Here's To Life program as a model which promotes awareness and positive action towards the health and well being of our children.
·To create a sponsorship program whereby patrons can "sponsor" teens and others at risk to attend "Second Wind" performances.
STRATEGIES
·To perform "Second Wind," the musical story of teen violence, as the Here's To Life Foundation's first venue at the Gene Bua Acting For Life Theatre in Burbank, California.
·To select local treatment centers, schools and institutions that will be designated as "sponsored teens and others at risk" to attend the show and participation in post performance dialogues.
·To conduct post performance dialogues with the cast and creators, together with teens at risk and their counselors, in order to discuss the issues presented in the show. Using the story and music as an emotional springboard, the teens are encouraged to express their feelings and are guided towards the possibilities of hope, personal responsibility and positive life choices.
·To continue the Acting For Life outreach program, where representatives travel to on-site treatment centers/high schools and universities teaching discipline, courage, compassion and love through the art of acting and self-expression.
·To provide practical student intern opportunities in all facets of the theatre.
·To partner and collaborate with local businesses, government agencies, civic organizations and other non-profit foundations, sharing resources and information.
·To create a seminar directed to the heads of the participating institutions and schools, which creates an environment to brainstorm pertinent teen issues through non-cognitive ways of expression.
·To
hire multi-racial artists and artisans that represent excellence in their
field with the spirit and commitment that reflect the passion of the Here's
To Life vision.
